When Life Gives You Lessons & Not Just Lemons
The other day I found my friend sitting in a corner, deeply lost in thought. I figured out that something was bothering him and asked him what was it all about? He looked me in the eye with an expressionless face and said " We were friends for years and yet I didn't see this coming from him. I thought I knew him in and out." He had an emotional breakdown but was controlling his tears.
This reminded me about similar experiences in the past. The first time it happened, it was painful. I was annoyed & perplexed and there was only one question haunting me "Why me?" The second time was shocking with the question "Why again?" and by the third time, I was not very much bothered by it. There comes a breaking point for everyone beyond which one gives up. These lessons taught by life were not easy to forget and they would probably last forever. I decided to impart some wisdom into my sulking friend.
I said "May be you didn't know him at all. The amount of time you know a person isn't directly proportional to the level of understanding about them. Some people project only a part of themselves which they want the world to know. It doesn't mean that's their only personality.
Many people come into our life in different relations. Not everyone is meant to stay in our life. Some are meant to teach us a life lesson while others are just passing clouds. Only few people remain in our life for long. As we grow older, our circle shortens and eventually we are left with very few people who truly understand us. But as long as we have that one person who knows about us better than ourselves, we can sleep peacefully."
Saying this , I started walking away realizing that
"Times may change but one thing that never changes is life giving us lessons. Life is the best teacher in adulthood."
